Mr. Edwin Lewis Gooden, 72, 741 William Burney Rd, died on Monday, April 11, 2016 at Bladen County Hospital in Elizabethtown, NC.

Mr. Gooden was born July 12, 1943 the son of the late Clarence Edwin Gooden and Geneva Lewis Gooden. He was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn and two brothers, Gene Lewis and Gary Gooden.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Purdie United Methodist Church with the Rev. Al Marshburn officiating. Burial will follow in the Harmony Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Harrells, NC.

Mr. Gooden is survived by his step-daughter Rhonda Pollard and husband Mike of Beaufort, step-son Joe Chadwick, Sister Joyce G. Conklin & husband Norman of Tar Heel and two step-grandchildren, Abby Bullard and Zack Bullard. One nephew, Billy Gooden of St. Pauls.

There will be a visitation at the church from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM prior to the service, and other times at the home of Joyce Conklin at 4511 River Rd. Tar Heel, NC.
