Annie Lee Matthews

Mrs. Annie Lee Matthews 81 of 1606 Rawlings St. Goldsboro, formerly of the Delway Community, died Tuesday, May 02, 2019 at Willow Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Goldsboro, NC.

Mrs. Matthews was born December 25, 1937 in Sampson Co. the daughter of the late Vassie Leroy Matthews and Annie Lillian Peterson Matthews.  She was preceded death by two  brothers, Harvey Matthews and Kadel Matthews. She was a retired educator with Sampson County Public Schools System.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Hayes Chapel Baptist Church. 

Mrs. Matthews is survived by two daughters, Lillian Dianne Autry and husband Ronnie Autry of Goldsboro, Angelia Sherrilynn Tibbs and husband Hunter Tibbs Jr. of Orange, Va., four sisters, Sarah P. Matthews of Roseboro, Caletha Mae Pindle and husband Arthur of New Orleans, LA, Janie Carolyn Bannister and husband Charles of Grayson, Ga, Redetha Elizabeth Neube and husband Alexander of Limon Grove, CA, 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren. 

The public will be received on Friday, May 10, 2019 from 1:00 P.M.-6:00P.M. at Carter Funeral Home in Garland.
