Joey Merritt

Mr. David Joey Merritt 60, of 1224 NC Hwy 210 E. Harrells, died Sunday, July 09, 2017 at Elizabethtown Nursing Center in Elizabethtown, NC.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Colly Chapel Church. Rev. Dan Rich, Rev. Jim Woodruff and Rev. Richard Smith will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Merritt is survived by his wife, Brenda Lee Merritt. One daughter, Wendy Merritt, husband Danny. One son, Bobby Merritt, wife Joanna. His father, Winfred Merritt. Three sisters: Linda Woodruff, husband Jim, Abby Cain, husband Mark and Jane Norris. Three brothers: Pee Wee Merritt, wife Dorothy, Willie Merritt, wife Evelyn and Jimmy Merritt. Six grandchildren whom he loved dearly Austin, Christopher, Summer, Bobby JR, Mattie and Levi.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 from 6 pm- 8pm at Carter Funeral Home in Garland.
