Mrs. Katie Ruth James 96 of 110 Willie Brown Rd. Roseboro, died Wednesday December 19, 2018 at Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton, NC.

Mrs. James was born July 04, 1922 in Sampson Co., the daughter of the late Joe Newman and Fannie Peterson Newman.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Sam Springs AME Zion Church by the Rev. John M. Melvin.  Burial will follow in the Roseboro-Snowhill Cemetery.

Mrs. James is survived by daughters, Shirley James of Roseboro, Diana Long of Fayetteville, Dolly McKeithan of Charlotte, Peggy Sauders of Fayetteville, Wilma Doggett of Brooklyn, NY Sons, Mozell James of Roseboro, Richard C. James of Roseboro, 22 Grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren.

The public will be received from 1:00 P.M.-5:00 P.M. Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Carter Funeral Home, with family present from 4:00P.M.-5:00P.M.
