Kenneth Mitchell McPhail

Mr. Kenneth Mitchell McPhail, 91, of 6511 Tomahawk Hwy. Harrells, NC died Saturday, September 28, 2019 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice in Wilmington, NC.

Mr. McPhail was born on October 6, 1927 to the late William Lester McPhail and Norma Pope McPhail. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Moore McPhail, brothers William Lester McPhail Jr. and Ellis Iverson McPhail.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at Centenary United Methodist Church in Harrells, NC with the Rev. Tom Murray officiating.  A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Burial will follow at the Garland Cemetery.

Mr. McPhail is survived by his son, Terry McPhail and wife Karen of Elizabethtown, NC, his daughter, Joanne Hixson and husband Dennis of Castle Hayne, NC. Two brothers, Thomas E. McPhail of Durham, NC and James David McPhail of Tarboro, NC. Three grandchildren, Darren Mitchell McPhail, Kenan Anders and Bobby Lee McCloud. Seven great-grandchildren.

The family will  receive friends from 1-5 PM on Monday, September 30, 2019 at the home, 6511 Tomahawk Hwy. Harrells, NC 28444. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Center, 1414 Physician Dr. Wilmington, NC 28401 or Centenary United Methodist Church, PO Box 90, Harrells, NC 28444.
