Ronald Edward Melvin

Mr. Ronald Edward Melvin 68 of 250 N. Parkersburg Ave., Garland died Tuesday, August 08, 2017 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC.

Mr. Melvin was born January 25, 1949 in Sampson Co., the son of the late Earnest Edward Melvin & Eunice Peterson Melvin.  Mr. Melvin was a retired veteran having served in the U.S. Army and National Guard for over 30 years.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Bennett.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday at St. Stephens AME Zion Church.  Burial Garland Community Cemetery with full military honors.

Mr. Melvin is survived by four daughters Kristie McDonald of Richmond Hill, Sonya Vargas of Stedman, Tammy Melvin of Garland, Jenee Oates of Clinton, 3 sons, Ronald J. Melvin of Clinton, Jared Melvin of Garland, Sean Melvin of Garland, four brothers, Gary Melvin of Owings Mill, Md., Drew P. Melvin, Earnest C. Melvin, and Curtis A. Melvin all of Garland, two sisters, Eunice Melvin-Fortson of Windsormill, Md., Cindy Allen of Cibolo, Texas, 22 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild.

The public will be received from 1:00 P.M.-6:00P.M., Friday, August 11, 2017 at Carter Funeral Home in Garland and other times at the home.
