Virginia Treadwell

Ms. Virginia “Gingerbread” Melvin Treadwell, 91 of 202 N. Herring Ave. Garland, N.C. died Thursday October 18, 2018 at her home.

Ms. Treadwell was born on June 09, 1927 to the late Mr. James Melvin and Mrs. Stella Cromartie Melvin.

Ms. Treadwell was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Willie K. Treadwell and her son Freeman Treadwell.

Funeral Service will be held at Noon Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at St. Stephen AME Zion Church in Garland. Dr. Rev. Hugh Miller will officiate. Burial will follow in the Garland Community Cemetery.

Ms. Treadwell is survived her daughter Ms. Yvonne Russ of Garland. One stepson Donnell Treadwell of Maryland. Two grandchildren: Mrs. Licia McDonald (Novarro) of Durham, N.C. and Mrs. Denise Daughtry (Gregory) of Clinton, NC. ; Three great grandchildren: Natarrah McDonald of Fayetteville, N.C., Gregory Daughtry Jr. (Meagan) of Clinton, N.C., and Christopher Daughtry of Greensboro, N.C. ; One great-great grandchild Brielle Claire Daughtry.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
