It is with great sadness that I learned of the passing of Willie today, as I was goggle searching. He was a wonderful man who was always very nice to me. As I get older I have become more reflective of all my cousins, uncles and aunts in NC. We had to move to Maine when I was a kid. I did not have a say in the matter because if I did, I would still be there. My best memories in life was made in Garland with all of you.! Spending over nights with my grandparents and cousins was the best. Playing in the old school bus and building with the pecan tree and having sand spur fights in the field. My grandparents, all of my aunts and uncles made me feel special. I could not have asked for better cousins. I/we become so busy in life that we can lose track of family and those moments until it is too late. I am sorry that I did not slow down enough before the passing of Willie and others. I hope to make a trip back next year and see all of you again. Rest in peace Willie you were a good man who I looked up to!

On my birthday I am reminded by the loss of a dear friend Willie Powell that we are all on our way home. No limits when it came to needing help from this man. Truly one of the best men I knew growing up. Hunting fishing or just working on trying to help us keep our cars and trucks running. You will find this man touched many hearts and lives. Willie had a huge following of friends. So many memories to hold me over till we meet again. Loved this Man who thought me so much.
