Briony "Bama" Kieron Townsend

Mr. Briony Kieron Townsend, 36, of Harrells Hwy., Garland, passed away on November 20, 2023, in New Jersey. Briony was born on January 21, 1987, in the Sampson County Hospital.  He is preceded in death by his grandmothers: Cornelia R. Williams, and Gladys Townsend.

Briony “Bama” as he was called, was the owner and operator of Salvage Life Trucking but later started driving for Solid Rock Trucking in LaGrange, NC. Driving trucks was his true passion.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 02, 2023, at Poplar Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 163 Poplar Grove Church Lane, Faison, NC. Interment to follow at the Robinson Cemetery, 1958 Harrells Hwy., Garland, NC. Reverend Willie C. Alford will be officiating the service.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his parents: Thomas and Telia Fennell, father: Bobby G. Townsend (Wendy), brother: Bobby A. Townsend (Jessica), sister: Aquana Autry (Will), nephews: Tyler, Nicholas, Jalen, Mekhi, Xzayvion, Naisaiah, and niece: Aiyanna, special friend: Miranda, aunts and uncles: Katherine (Ronnie), special aunt: Barbara Ann (James), Sherry (Zino), Pamela Maynor (Adam), Yvette Williams, Brenda Lewis, Judy, Elizabeth Mae Highsmith (Willie), Shelia Williams, Lina, Nancy Sinclair, Diane (George), and Vivian (“JC”), Jacqueline Fennell, Lucy Mitchell (Mack), Corlina Bobbitt, Veronica West, Shirley Alford, Maria Fennell, Alma (Jackie), Ollie Robinson (Sharon), Jeffery Townsend (Helen), and Jerome Townsend (Pandora), Bruce Alford, Jodie Alford (Lynn), and special friends: Rodleck “Boobie” Beatty, Bradford “Little Wilbert”, Boone, Trevor Powell, Broderick “B-Rock” Bennett, Tim Mathis “Superman”, special cousins: Crystal, April, Keisha, Chiquita, Shameka, Pam, Veronica, Kim, Scooter, Leshawn, Moe, Tracy (Steve), Kee Kee, Josh, DJ, Megan, Roderick, Kelvin, Ashley, Dion, Tomekia, Latora, Kim and Donta, two special friends, and a host of other family and friends.

A viewing will be held on Friday, December 01, 2023, from 1:00-6:00 PM, with the family present from 5:00-6:00 PM, at Carter Funeral Home, 111 N. Ingold Ave., Garland, NC.
