Thomas Edward Parker

Mr. Thomas Edward Parker, 86, of 7591 Old Mintz Hwy., Garland, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at his residence.

Thomas was born on August 11, 1937, in Sampson County, to the late Luther Parker and his wife, Wixie Herring Parker. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter: Dorothy Anders, granddaughter: Melissa Morrisey, two sisters: Carolyn Parker, Dorothy P. Boone, two brothers: James Parker, and Bobby Parker. Thomas enjoyed a long career as a Supervisor in the Textile Industry.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, March 16, 2024, at the Smith Chapel Church, 7485 Old Mintz Hwy., Garland, NC. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. Reverend Jerry Parker will be officiating the service.

Thomas leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife: Ida Boykin Parker of the home, three sons: Thomas Edward Parker, Jr. of Hackensack, NJ, Thomas L. Robinson (Deborah), of MD, James R. Herring, of Roseboro, NC, four daughters: Terry R. Howard (Darden) of Duluth, GA, Sonja S. Young (Norman) of Atlanta, GA, Teretha C. McNeil of Rose Hill, NC, Pialabra Anders of the home, 19 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Viewing will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024, from 1:00-6:00 PM, with the family present from 5:00-6:00 PM, at Carter Funeral Home, 111 N. Ingold Ave., Garland, NC.
