Adam Joshua Tyson, born on April 15, 2000, in Cumberland County, NC, passed away on January 21, 2026, at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh, NC. He was a dedicated lineman for River City Electric Company, where he demonstrated not only his skill but also a strong work ethic that earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and the community.
Adam's vibrant life was marked by his unwavering enthusiasm and commitment to his craft. He approached every challenge with a positive attitude, making him a valued member of his team and a beloved figure among friends and family.
He is survived by his father, Charles Patrick Tatum of Elizabethtown, NC, and his mother, Lisa Tyson of Sanford, NC. Adam was a loving brother to Daniel P. Tyson-Tatum, also of Sanford, NC. He leaves behind cherished memories with his paternal grandmother, Shelby Jean Tatum of Elizabethtown, NC, and maternal grandmother, Kathy Tyson of Sanford, NC. In addition to his family, Adam is remembered fondly by many friends from the community and his workplace.
Adam was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Charles Tatum, and his maternal grandfather, William Tyson, Jr. Their memories will live on in the hearts of all who knew Adam, as he shared his life with a love and kindness that reflected the values instilled in him by his family.
As we remember Adam, we celebrate a young man whose spirit touched many lives. His legacy will continue through the stories shared by those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at A Touch of Country Venue, 9700 N.C. Hwy. 41, Harrells, NC, by the Reverend Jim Woodruff.
Immediately following the service, friends and family are asked to stay for a time of fellowship and sharing a meal together.
