Annie Dorothy Robinson, affectionately known as "Dot," gently departed this world on June 24, 2025, at the age of 89, at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, North Carolina. Born on February 27, 1936, in Florida, Dot lived a life marked by love and devotion to her family, her faith, and her beloved pets — dogs and cats that brought her immense joy.
Dot's legacy is carried on by her loving family, which includes her daughter, Laura J. Richardson, and husband Michael of Trenton, New Jersey, and her son, Melvin Williams Ford, and wife Shannon of Nevada. She was the proud grandmother of 6 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild who filled her heart with laughter and happiness. She also shared a special bond with her brother, Odell Ford of Florida, and leaves behind many other family members, including nieces, nephews, and cousins, each of whom will remember her warmth and kindness.
Throughout her life, Dot was a beacon of strength and resilience. One of her proudest accomplishments came at the age of 85, when she received her high school diploma from Sampson County Community College, exemplifying her unyielding spirit and commitment to lifelong learning.
Dot was predeceased by her husband, Edward A. Robinson, who was her partner in many of life’s journeys. They shared countless memories. Additionally, she mourned the loss of one grandchild, three great-grandchildren, and seven siblings, yet she remained a steadfast source of love and guidance for her family.
Her memorial service will be held at the First Missionary Baptist Church in Garland, North Carolina, on June 28, 2025, beginning at 11:00 AM, with friends and family gathering to honor her remarkable life and the lasting impact she had on all who knew her.
