Betty Jean Melvin

Mrs. Betty Jean Norris Melvin, 87, of 1775 Lamb Road, Garland, NC, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at her residence. 

Betty was born September 22, 1937, in Bladen Co., the daughter of the late James Preston Norris and Katie Carter Norris.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul H. Melvin, and a daughter Paula Melvin.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. at Carter Funeral Home, 111 N. Ingold Ave., Garland, NC. Interment to follow in the Parkersburg Cemetery, 300 Reeves Rd., Garland, NC.

Betty is survived by two daughters, Joy M. Everette and husband Larry of Garland, Carol M. Knowels and husband Steve of Clinton, grandchildren, Toni (Norman), Denise (Bryon), Larry Paul (Amanda), Danny (Ashley), Stephanie (Jerry), great grandchildren, Ayden, Bailey, Koreigh, Lainee, Abel, Landon, Austin, Skylar, Brittney, and Emma.
