Betty Ruth (Smith) Norris

Mrs. Betty Ruth Norris, 85, of 46 Carter Ave., Garland passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington.

Betty was born February 06, 1936, in Sampson County to the late Baez and Leona Smith. She was employed for many years as a seamstress for the former Garland Shirt Factory. Betty is preceded in death by her husband: JD Norris, son: Randy Norris, brother: Buddy Smith, and sister: Ann Mae Smith.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, September 26, 2021, at the Garland Cemetery. Reverend Ed Rouse will be officiating the service.

Betty leaves to cherish her memory one daughter: Deborah Albertson and husband Harry of Rocky Point, one son: Thomas Norris and wife Marlene of Garland, one sister: Vivian Norris and husband Coleman of Garland, 6 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

A public viewing will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Garland Baptist Church in Garland.
