Carlton Deon Crenshaw, affectionately known as "Bam," passed away on December 11, 2025, in his hometown of Sampson County, North Carolina. Born on June 2, 1965, Carlton lived a life marked by love, resilience, and dedication to his family and country.
A proud Air Force Veteran, Carlton served with honor, embodying the values of duty and commitment. His military service was a testament to his character, reflecting his desire to contribute positively to society.
Carlton's legacy continues through his loving family. He is survived by his sons, Alonzo Deon Crenshaw of Fayetteville, NC, and Brandon Cassell-Elbert Crenshaw of Garland, NC. He found immense joy in his role as a grandfather, and his grandchildren—Ziyah Crenshaw, Alonzo Crenshaw II, Tahari Crenshaw, Tristan Crenshaw, Wynter Crenshaw, and Zekai Crenshaw—were a source of pride and happiness for him. Additionally, he is remembered fondly by his aunt, Audrey Drake.
Carlton was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Malone, who nurtured him with love and guidance. He is also survived by the memories of his uncle, Elbert Crenshaw, and his aunt, Lula Crenshaw, both of whom played significant roles in his life.
As family and friends gather to celebrate Carlton's life, he will be remembered as a devoted father, grandfather, and a friend who brought warmth and humor to all those around him. His memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
