Charles Ray Johnson, age 78, of Clinton, North Carolina, peacefully entered eternal rest on October 21, 2025.

Charles was born on May 16, 1947, in Clinton, North Carolina, to the late Florence Johnson and John Parker. He accepted Christ at an early age and remained a devoted follower of Jesus Christ throughout his life.

Charles was a hardworking and humble man who dedicated over 50 years to the trucking industry with C&V in North Haven, Connecticut, where he faithfully served until his retirement. After retiring, he returned home to Clinton, North Carolina. However, his love for the open road soon called him back, and after a year of retirement, he resumed his career with Circle City Boys, where he continued working until his passing.

Charles was well known for his compassion, strong faith, and generous spirit. He never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He found great joy in spending time with his family, fishing, worshiping with his church family, and connecting with his CB club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Florence Johnson and John Parker, and his siblings Bobbie, Willie, Peggie, Joe, Carolyn, and Mack Ray.

Charles leaves to cherish his memory his devoted fiancée Annie O’Bryant; his children Charles Johnson Jr. (Atira Weeks), David Johnson (Dolly Ortiz Johnson), Eric Johnson (Rebecca Johnson), and Tonya Johnson; his grandchildren Ashley Johnson, Charles Johnson III, Eric Johnson Jr., David Johnson Jr., Janie Johnson, Bryce Hemingway, and Holland Wright; his sister Mildred (Hurbert Prospere); brother-in-law Robert Douglas; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family, and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.

Charles will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, his deep faith, and the kindness he shared with everyone he met. His legacy of love, strength, and generosity will live on through all who knew him.
