Charlotte Carter Taylor, of White Lake, NC, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday June 28, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on April 19, 1948, in Reidsville, NC, Charlotte was the daughter of Howard and Mary Casteen Carter. In 1963, she married Glenn Taylor, and together they shared 41 years filled with joy, love, and family.
Charlotte lived life with passion and grace. She had a remarkable gift for creating beauty—whether decorating a new home or lovingly renovating one, her personal touch was evident in every space she transformed. She found great joy at the beach, spending time with her friends, but her greatest love was her family.
She was the heart of her home, a devoted mother, mother-n-law, and a proud meme. Charlotte shared a deep bond with her son, Bryan, and supported his passion for aviation with unwavering pride. Her grandsons, Reid and Travis, were the light of her life. They spent countless cherished moments with her at home and on the shore, memories that will forever be treasured. Just like her son, she has helped them both chase their dream of aviation. In 1994 her future daughter-in-law came into her life and gave her the daughter she never had. They spent countless hours together doing one of her most favorite things, shopping. She spent her final years at White Lake, spending loving time with her precious family and spoiling her beloved puppy, Oreo.
Charlotte had a rare gift for connecting with people. She never met a stranger. Whether in a store or at a gathering, she left everyone she met with a smile, a story, and often a hug. Her warmth and kindness touched all who knew her.
She is survived by her son, Bryan Taylor, and his wife Mary Ann Taylor; her grandsons, Nathan Reid Taylor and his wife Lindsey Taylor, and Travis Neal Taylor, all of White Lake, NC. She is also survived by her sisters, Judy Jackson of Reidsville, NC, Tina Carter Scales, and Star Ree Fulp, both of Madison, NC.
A memorial service to celebrate Charlotte’s life will be held on July 6th at 2:00 pm at Lake Church, 1930 White Lake Dr. White Lake, NC 28337, Guests are encouraged to wear bright, colorful attire in honor of Charlotte’s vibrant spirit.
