Cynthia Lee Owens

Cynthia Lee, a beloved daycare teacher and cherished member of her community, passed away on October 11, 2025, in Sampson County, NC. Born on March 17, 1962, in Passaic County, NJ, Cynthia made a profound impact on those around her through her dedication to nurturing the young minds at Cason's Day Care in Roseboro, NC.

Throughout her career, she touched countless lives, not only as an educator but also as a source of warmth and support for the families she served. Her passion for teaching and her unwavering devotion to her students defined her life's work, and her legacy will continue to inspire future generations.

Cynthia is survived by her son, Tyler Owens of Roseboro, NC, who carries forward her spirit of love and compassion. She is also survived by her sisters, Mary Hayes (Ray) of Roseboro, NC, and Patricia Morrisey (Arthur) of Turkey, NC, as well as her brother, Robert Newman (Barbara) of Garner, NC. Cynthia's loving family also includes a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will remember her for her kindness and gentle nature.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Marshall and Arizela Faison, along with her sister, Doris Harris. Their memories will forever be held close by those who loved Cynthia.

The community is invited to pay their respects during a viewing at Carter Funeral Home in Garland, NC, on October 17, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM. A funeral service honoring Cynthia’s life will take place the following day, October 18, 2025, at Big Piney Missionary Baptist Church, located on Big Piney Grove Road, beginning at 1:00 PM. Following the service, Cynthia will be laid to rest at Newman Peterson Cemetery in Clinton, NC, with interment scheduled for 2:30 PM.
