Deborah Herring

Deborah Ann Herring, beloved daughter, sister, and a retired office manager at Smithfield Foods, Inc., passed away on January 25, 2026, in Sampson County, North Carolina, at the age of 73. Born on April 10, 1952, in Sampson County, she was a warm and uplifting presence to all who knew her.

Deborah was the daughter of Robert Henry Howard and Alean Gainey Howard, both of whom preceded her in death. She is survived by her four sisters: Loretta F. Howard of Clinton, NC; Bertha Mae Howard of Harrells, NC; Janet Howard of Spotsylvania, VA; and Marguerite Howard Dunn, who resides in Harrells, NC with her husband Reginald. Also left to cherish her memory are her three brothers: Allen Howard of Capital Heights, MD; Jerry Howard, accompanied by his wife Gloria of Goldsboro, NC; and Gordan Howard, along with his wife Linda of Harrells, NC. Additionally, Deborah leaves behind a host of loving nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.

Throughout her life, Deborah was widely respected in her profession, making significant contributions during her time as an office manager in the swine industry. Her commitment to her work exemplified her strong work ethic and dedication.

Deborah's life will be honored on Saturday,  February 7, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Keathern Baptist Church, situated at 92 Bland School Road in Harrells, NC. Interment will be in the church cemetery.  A viewing will be held on Saturday, February 07, 2026,  from 10:00-10:50 AM, before the service at the church.

Deborah Ann Herring will be remembered for her loving spirit, her unwavering support for her family, and her passion for her work. She touched the lives of many and leaves behind a legacy of kindness and dedication.
