It is with deep love and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Elizabeth Isabell H. Kerr, who transcended from her earthly home to her new body in Christ on November 24, 2025 at the age of 90. She departed peacefully, surrounded by family, leaving behind a legacy of strength, compassion, and unwavering faith.
Born on November 11, 1935 in Bladen County, North Carolina. Isabell lived a life defined by dedication—- to her family, her community and the values she held close. She was a woman of grace, wisdom, and resilience, known for her warm smile, her generous spirit, and the way she made everyone around her feel seen and loved.
Isabel was the heart of her family. She is survived by: her husband Julius Kerr and sons Linwood and Rosa Lee Kerr, and Terry Highsmith. Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Special friends to whom remained dear to her heart Brenda Highsmith and Mrs. Magdalene. All of whom carry her lessons, her laughter, and her love within them. She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Melissa Highsmith; her children: Glenwood Kerr, Prentice Kerr, Jenice Highsmith,
Mildred Anne Kerr, and Amenis Kerr. Special friend: Jody Weeks. Isabell was the last of her siblings to pass.
She will be remembered for helping others and making people laugh. Whether she was lending a place to stay or making people laugh, she touched countless lives with the simplest acts of kindness.
A viewing of the body will be held November 30, 2025 from 1pm to 6pm at Carter Funeral Home in Garland, NC. A celebration of her life will be held December 1, 2025 at 1pm. at Carter Funeral Home in Galand, NC. All who loved her are welcome to attend and celebrate the beautiful life she lived.
Though she is no longer with us in the body, her love remains woven into the fabric of every life she touched. Her memory will be cherished forever.
