Eva Grace Locklear

Eva Locklear, born on May 27, 1941, peacefully departed from this world on October 13, 2025, at the Mary Gran Nursing Center in Clinton, North Carolina. She lived a full life, marked by the enduring love of her family and the unwavering strength of her spirit.

A cherished sister, Eva was the third of thirteen siblings: Mary Lois Peterson (deceased), Jean Allen Mason (deceased), Minister Carolyn Davis of Boston, Ma, Marilyn Colton (James) of Brockton, Ma, Minister Joyce Burns of Newburgh, NY, Rev. Fleeta Simpson of Philadelphia, Pa, Gladette Mitchell (Charles) of Katonah, NY, Judy Simpson of Garland, NC, James Junior Simpson (deceased), Katie Florence Simpson (deceased), Roger Simpson of Garland, NC and Mary Tyler (Miliken) of Cary, NC.

Eva's life spanned many decades, during which she created countless memories and touched the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her dedication to her family was evident in her every action, and she will be remembered for her warm heart and nurturing presence.

In this time of reflection, we honor Eva's legacy, celebrating the love and joy she brought to her family and friends. May her memory continue to be a source of inspiration and strength for all who loved her.

A Viewing will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2025, from 1:00-5:00 PM, at Carter Funeral Home, 111 N. Ingold Ave., Garland, NC. 

A Funeral Service will be at 1:00 PM, Monday, October 27, 2025, at Carter Funeral Home, 111 N. Ingold Ave., Garland, NC. Elder Miliken Tyler will be officiating the service.

Interment to follow the funeral service at the Simpson Family Cemetery in Garland, NC.
