James "Buddy" Alford Cain

James Alford Cain, affectionately called "Buddy", born September 20, 1942, in Sampson County, North Carolina, passed away on August 8, 2026, at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina.

Mr. Cain was the son of Adrian Cain and Annie Lou Cain, both of whom preceded him in death. Throughout his life, James exemplified dedication and integrity, making a lasting impact on those who knew him personally and professionally. Raised in Sampson County, he carried the values of his community throughout his years.

James will be fondly remembered by his surviving family members, including his sisters, Susan Beasley and Diana Jernigan. The enduring bonds he shared with his family were a central pillar in his life.

Throughout his journey, James cultivated meaningful relationships and impacted many with his steadfast character. He upheld the legacy of his parents and cherished the companionship and support of his siblings, who remain to honor his memory.
