James Shelbourne Lawless Jr.

James Shelbourne Lawless Jr. passed away on September 29, 2026, at the age of 69. He was born on October 22, 1956, in Martinsville, Virginia.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Shelbourne Lawless Sr., and his mother, Shirley Jackson Lawless Lea.

James leaves behind his beloved wife, Cynthia M. Lawless. He is also survived by his daughter, Samantha Heustess, and her husband, Lonnie. His memory will be cherished by his grandchildren, Xander Heustess, Kennedy Heustess, and Lennox Heustess, who were an important part of his family circle. He is also survived by his siblings, Cynthia Riley and her husband, Joe; Kathy Lawless; Carolyn Joyce and her husband, Steve; Sherry Gammons and her husband, Ronnie; Tammy Agee; Phillip Lawless and sisters-in-law, Juanita Moody and Stephanie Moody, and a host of nieces and nephews. He will be remembered with love by his family and by all who knew him.

A graveside service will be held on October 3, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at White Oak Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery, 1932 Burney Road, White Oak, NC 28399.

James Shelbourne Lawless Jr. will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by those whose lives he touched.
