Mrs. Joyce (Shane) Murphy-Smith, 73 of Toms River, NJ, formerly of Harrells, NC passed away on January 17, 2017 at Bay Lea Care Facility in N.J.
Mrs. Murphy-Smith is predeceased by her mother, Doshia Mae Murphy-Pridgen.
Graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Fennell Memorial Park in Harrells, NC with the Apostle Lisa Murphy-Mercer officiating. Repast will be held at Garland First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall following the service at 2:00 PM.
She is survived by four sons, William Smith, Jr., Anthony Smith & wife Sandra, Tyrone Smith and Matthew Smith & wife Yolanda. Six grandchildren, Chantiona N. Smith, William Smith lll, Kamani Smith, Maya K. Smith, Terrell D. Smith and Travis R. Smith all of N.J.. One brother, Thurmond Murphy & wife Ann of Spring Hope, NC and one sister Jeanette Pridgen of Garland.
A viewing will be held Friday January 27, 2017 from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM and Saturday January 28 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Carter Funeral Home in Garland.
