Leo Autry

Mr. Leo Autry, 82, of 536 Autrytown Rd, passed away on Tuesday, September 01,2026, at Cape Fear Valley Hospital in Elizabethtown.

Leo was born on September 2, 1943, in Bladen County to the late Daniel Wilson Fletcher Autry & Elizabeth Ann Bodeaux Autry. In addition to his parents, Leo is preceded in death by two sisters: Marjorie Autry and Frances Autry Thomas, and three brothers: Wilson Daniel Autry, Raymond Wendell Autry, and Edward Autry.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Garland First Baptist Church, Garland, NC with Bishop Keith Autry officiating. Burial will follow in the Autry Cemetery.

Leo leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife: Joyce Highsmith Autry, children: Tyronzia Autry, Battisha Autry, Henry Highsmith (Sherry), Denise Highsmith and Alfreda Highsmith, 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and two great great-grands, brothers: Thurman Autry (Linda) of Fayetteville, NC, Randolph Autry (Georgia) of Garland, NC, Jerry Autry of Fayetteville, NC, sisters: Hattie Streeter of Fayetteville, NC, Janice Johnson, Elaine Autry, Michelle Stacker of Elizabethtown NC, uncle: Oscar Lee Autry Jr. Nine sister-in-law’s, three brother -in- law’s, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A public viewing will be held on Friday, September 04, 2026, from 1:PM-6:00 PM, with family present from 5:00 PM-6:00 PM, at Carter Funeral Home in Garland, NC.
