Linda Sholar Richards, a beloved wife, sister, and friend, a dedicated professional, and community volunteer, passed away on September 24, 2025, in Asheville, North Carolina. She was born on January 23, 1944, in White Oak, North Carolina, to Clarence and Flora Sholar, who preceded her in death. Linda was also predeceased by her brother, Clarence Currie Sholar, Jr., young sister, Agnes Sholar; sister-in-law, Pam Sholar, and brother-in-law, Sandy Inman.
Linda's remarkable career spanned a total of 51 years, during which she served as a secretary for the Bank of America, Campbell Oil Company, and other local businesses. Her exceptional work ethic and unwavering dedication showed through in every role she undertook, leaving a lasting impact on colleagues and friends alike.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Linda had a zest for life that manifested in her passions. She was a meticulous housekeeper and loved cooking and entertaining. Linda’s vibrant personality extended beyond her personal interests; she devoted her time and energy to volunteering and assisting local churches, embodying a spirit of service that inspired those around her.
Above all, Linda took pride in her role as the wife of John Larry Richards. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in January 2025 with a vow renewal. Her love for Larry was profound, and she cherished their life together, finding joy in the everyday moments that made up their shared journey.
Linda is survived by her husband, John Larry Richards, who will forever hold onto the memories of their time together. Her legacy of kindness, dedication, and love will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be missed dearly, but her spirit will continue to resonate in the hearts of many.
Linda is also survived by her sister-in-law, Joan Sholar; brothers, Gene Sholar (Joyce Ann), Donald Sholar (Diane), and Larry Sholar; sisters, Janet Inman and Deloris Keuvelaar. Linda dearly loved her nephews and nieces and all other extended family.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Foundation Church, 909 S. Poplar St., Elizabethtown, NC. Officiating the service will be Pastor Jason Williams, and Bishop Scott Gillum.
