Michael "Cotton" Anthony Rice

Michael Anthony Rice, affectionately known as "Cotton," was born on June 24, 1964, in Bladen County, North Carolina. He departed this life on February 1, 2026, at UNC Southeastern in Lumberton, North Carolina.

Throughout his life, Michael made significant contributions to the construction industry as a skilled Brick Mason. His dedication and craftsmanship earned him respect among his peers and set a high standard in his field.

Michael is survived by his father, Edwin Rice, who resides at home; his brother, Mark Cain, and his wife, Abby, of Harrells, North Carolina; his sister, Lisa Rice, from Elizabethtown, North Carolina; and a host of nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory deeply.

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Laura Walters Rice, and his sister, Tammy Andrews, who will surely welcome him with open arms in eternity.

A graveside service honoring Michael Anthony Rice will take place on February 6, 2026, at the Bethlehem United Methodist Church Cemetery, located at 72 Bethlehem Church Road, White Oak, North Carolina. The service will commence at 1:00 PM, with the conclusion scheduled for 2:00 PM. Reverend Jim Woodruff will be officiating the service.

Michael's legacy will remain in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him, and he will be greatly missed by family and friends alike.
