Michael Terry Tatum, born on January 4, 1959, in North Carolina, passed away peacefully in Stafford, Virginia, on June 28, 2025. He leaves behind a profound legacy of dedication, service, and love.
A proud veteran, Terry honorably served 20 years of Active Military Duty, exemplifying discipline, loyalty, and integrity throughout his military career. His dedication to the armed forces continued for an additional 25 years as a civilian, serving with distinction as a Photographic Services Coordinator for the Army Multimedia and Visual Information Division. He retired from his post in June 2024. Through his work, Terry captured moments of great significance—both public and personal—reflecting his deep respect for those in uniform and his enduring commitment to honoring their service.
Terry is survived by his beloved wife, Kathy Tatum, and their three sons: Michael Isaac Tatum (Alison) of Toronto, Canada; Marcus Aaron Tatum of Stafford, Virginia; and Steven Thomas Tatum of Rose Hill, North Carolina. His family will continue to cherish the memories of their life together and the strength, love, and integrity he modeled each day.
As a devoted husband, father, brother, and uncle, Terry’s warmth, compassion, and steady presence enriched the lives of all who knew him. He will be remembered not only for his professionalism and passion for photography but also for his humble spirit and unwavering devotion to his family and country.
