Nero Johnson Corbett was born September 21, 1933 to Hardy and Nancy Lee Corbett in Ivanhoe North Carolina. He lived with Mama and Papa well into life, thus being a Mother’s baby in spite of the fact that he was her “knee baby”. He lived a calm, pleasant life and was very friendly to all humanity.
He was educated in Sampson County School System. Nero’s vocation was diverse in a variety of areas such as Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Forestry and a number of other employment opportunities. Fresh water fishing was a joy to him.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, May 03, 2021 at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church Cemetery, 240 Pilgrim Church Road in Harrells. The Reverend Willie C. Alford will be officiating the service.
Nero was a member of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church for the duration of his life was preceded in death by his mother and father, sisters: Hannah, Geraldine, Virginia and brother: Hardy Corbett.
Surviving him is one sister: Evelyn Fontis (David), brothers: Nathaniel (Thelma) and Billy Ray (Laura Mae). They are accompanied by a cadre of cousins, nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, May 02, 2021 from 1:00-5:00 PM at Carter Funeral Home in Garland.
