Nicholas "Adam" Strickland, born on July 11, 1988, in Newport News, Virginia, passed away on July 20, 2026, in Kelly, North Carolina. His sudden departure has deeply touched his family, friends, and all who came to know him.

Adam was the beloved husband of Hannah Strickland and devoted father to their three children: Adalynn, Harper, and Nicholas Jr. He was a hardworking man who spend his life providing for those he loved, always putting his family before himself and never hesitating to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

He was cherished by his mother, Angela Yankasky, and her husband, Art, as well as his father, John Strickland, and his wife, Phyllis. Adam also held a special place in the hearts of his father-in-law, Gary Cashwell, and mother-in-law, Angie. He remained grateful for their love, guidance, and support throughout his life.

As a brother, he shared a special bond with his siblings, creating countless memories that will forever be treasured. Adam is fondly remembered by Tiffany, Lauren, Zachary, Bobby, Arthur, and Marianne. As an uncle, he loved his nieces and nephews always challenging them to be the best they can be. He will always be loved and cherished by his nieces and nephews: Kaleb, Chloe, Kaitlyn, Hunter, Shane, Kynzlee, Karlee, Haidyn, Matthew, Collin, Shawn, Bentley, and Annistyn.

He also leaves behind a large extended family, including his brothers and sisters-in-law: Brooke (Ryan), Whitney (Dale), Joshua, and Cari, all of whom valued his dependability and sense of humor.

Preceding Adam in death are his grandparents, John M. Strickland, Archie & Libby Jernigan. Their memory held a special place in his heart. Their love, wisdom, and guidance helped shape the man he became, and he treasured the memories they shared together.

Adam dedicated his professional life to his work at GAF as a Maintenance technician. He was also a welder. He approached his career with diligence and pride, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues for his commitment to excellence and unwavering work ethic.

Adam's passing leaves a profound void, but his memory will be lovingly preserved by a family grateful for the time shared, and by friends and colleagues who were fortunate enough to know him.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 10:00-11:00 AM, at Carter Funeral Home, 111 N. Ingold Ave., Garland, NC. The Funeral Service will commence at 11:00 AM at the same location. Burial will follow in the Garland Cemetery in Garland, NC.
