On Friday, August 16, 2024, Pearl Owens answered the soft and tender voice, and slipped peacefully into the hands of God. She was born on December 24, 1933, in Sampson County to the late: Web and Lillie Mae Melvin.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM, on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at Sam’s Spring AME Zion Church, 1964 Old Mintz Hwy., Roseboro, NC. Interment to follow in the Roseboro-Snowhill Cemetery, 816 Marion Amos Rd, Roseboro, NC. Reverend John Mark Melvin will be officiating the service.
Pearl always had a smile on her face. She was a prideful, happy, and unique individual. She lived a humble life filled with deep dedication, love, and devotion to her family, and late husband Edward Owens. She was loved and respected by all of her immediate and extended family members. Her warm and loving presence will be missed by her family and everyone who knew her.
She was preceded in death by sisters: Dipsie Owens; Rebecca and Arletha Melvin, and brothers: David and Authur Melvin.
Left to cherish her memory her brother: Clarence Melvin of Wilmington, Delaware, two daughters: Lillie Lamb (Wilfred) of the home; Elaine Owens of Roseboro, one son: Edward Earl Owens of the home, one grandson: James Owens of Clinton, and a host of nieces, nephews, relative and friends.
A Viewing will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, from 1:00-5:00 PM, at Carter Funeral Home, 111 N. Ingold Ave., Garland, NC.
