Sulynne Jay Kennedy

Mrs. Sulynne Bryant Kennedy, 66, of Sneads Ferry, NC, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Cape Fear Life Center in Wilmington, North Carolina, after a brief illness.

She was born January 05, 1960, in Sampson County, the daughter of the late Shelton Bryant and Sylvia Watson Edwards. She completed High school through a GED and for a short period pursued administration office degree, but found herself drawn to the family trucking business. She had several hobbies, but most centered around crafts, drawing, coloring, and  making dolls, ornaments, and many other things that "popped into her creative mind." She was pet person, who shared three dogs with her husband, Guy.

She had a strong personality and spoke what was on her mind. "If you don't want to know the truth don't ask".

Ms. Kennedy is survived by her husband, Guy Kennedy, of the home. Her son Michael and spouse Kimberly.  Daughter Leslie and spouse Jason. Sister Jay and spouse Reese. Grandchildren Krisalyn, Linda, Kyle, Blaine, Delane, Jackson, Laila and Nicholas. Great grandchildren Phonex and Sterling.  Nephews Jonathan and spouse Ashley, David and Laura,  Brandon and Alex.  Niece Amy. Great nephew Kaleb. Many aunts, uncles, cousins  and friends. Special cousin Charlotte.

She was preceded in death by both maternal grandparents Eula and Arthur Watson. Both paternal grandparents Willie and Hattie Bryan. Her daughter Vanessa. Brothers Evan and Daryl. Multiple aunts and uncles.

Graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, February 21, 2026 at the Garland Cemetery.
