Tabatha Ann Mitchell

Tabatha Ann Mitchell, lovingly known as Tab, passed away on October 30, 2026, at Novant Health in Wilmington, North Carolina. She was born on March 12, 1969, in Sampson County, North Carolina.

Tabatha built a life marked by care and dedication to others. She earned an associate’s degree and went on to serve as a CNA in the health care industry, a role that reflected her commitment to helping those in need. Her work stood as a meaningful expression of compassion and service.

She leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Fannie West, and her father, Mack Ray Mitchell, Sr.; her son, Sam Carr; her brothers, Mack Ray Mitchell, Jr. (Lucy), Lonnie Mitchell (Shervonda), Aaron Mitchell (Lisa), Mack Ray Mitchell III, Deonte Michell, and Anthony Henderson; and her sisters, Michelle Blackburn (Anthony), Shakeyra Mitchell, Trishea Lewis (Ellis), and Amanda Mitchell. She is also survived by one grandchild, who will carry forward her memory with love, and by her beloved fur baby, Sadie. Surrounded by the love of her family, Tabatha’s memory will remain close in the hearts of those who knew her and shared in her life.

A viewing will be held on Friday, November 6, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., with the family present from 5:00-6:00 p.m., at Carter Funeral Home, 111 N. Ingold Avenue, Garland, North Carolina 28441.

 A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., at Keathern Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 92 Bland School Road, Harrells, North Carolina 28444. Reverend Jeffrey Howard will be officiating the service.

Burial will follow at 3:30 p.m., at Wards Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 3764 Delway Highway, Harrells, North Carolina 28444.

Tabatha Ann Mitchell will be remembered with love, gratitude, and deep affection by her family and all who had the blessing of knowing her.
