On Wednesday, August 10, 2022, God in His Infinite Wisdom called an Angel home. Victor Lloyd Parker was born on April 26, 1965 in Clinton, NC. He was raised in Garland and accepted Christ as his personal savior at the age of 10. Victor joined Garland First Baptist Church and considered Garland First Baptist Church his church home throughout his life. Victor attended Union High School in Clinton, NC and graduated from Grainger High School in Charlotte, NC before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force. He served honorably in the Air Force from 1983 to 1989. After the Air Force, Victor attended the South Carolina State University and subsequently enjoyed a successful career in finance in the Charlotte area.
Victor was an avid runner and known for his gentle spirit, radiant smile and the ability to make you laugh, and laugh, and laugh some more. Victor had an impact on the lives of many, as he was a son, brother, uncle, nephew, godfather and friend. He was affectionately known as “Uncle Vic.”
Victor is preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Dorothy Crenshaw, Moses and Eunice Hines, Cleo Newkirk, Harvey and Verlene Parker, aunts Nadine Barbour, Mary Crenshaw, his very special aunt, Debbie Autry; and uncle, Donald Ray Hines (Blanche).
Victor leaves a legacy of love and devotion to his mother, Angelia Marthel Parker; brother, Reginald (Margaret) Parker; nephew, Myles Parker; niece, Jasmine Parker; special sister, Samantha Stevens; aunts, Peggy Matthews, Jennifer (Smitty) Washington-Smith, Cynthia Crenshaw, Lois Toraine, Jeraldine (Gerald) Donatien, Lenda Jackson, Shirley Wilson, and Joy Parker; special godsons Demarius James and Logan Allen; father, Jimmy Parker, and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 20, 2022, at Garland First Baptist Church, 227 E. 4th St., Garland, NC. Interment to follow in the Garland Community Cemetery.
A viewing will be held on Friday, August 19, 2022, at Carter Funeral Home, in Garland NC, from 1:00-6:00 PM.
