Very quietly and peacefully on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, Almighty God, in His infinite mercy and grace, gently closed the eyes of our beloved Annie Belle Imes, at Mary Gran Nursing Center in Clinton, NC and she entered into her eternal rest.
She was born on August 18, 1921, in Sampson County, NC to the late Ida Monroe and Amos Bannerman. Annie was the knee baby of seven siblings, all which preceded her in death.
Annie attended Bland School in Willard NC. She lived a pleasant God-filled life mostly in Harrells NC.
Annie joined Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church at a very early age where she enjoyed being a part of several auxiliaries to include the Daughters of Zion and the Senior Choir. She was an active member until the decline of her health.
Annie is preceded in death by her husband’s Stephen McKoy and Benny Imes, her son Kennis Bannerman, her grandson Johnny Bannerman, and her stepdaughter Betty Bennett.
Annie is survived by her daughter Anne Louise Blackman. Her grandsons Anthony Bannerman (Tonya), Mandrick (Leshon), Reginald (Virginia). Her granddaughters Annette Taylor (Denzel) and Nickeisha Highsmith (Kevin). Her great grandchildren Michael, Michaiah, Eja, Haleigh, Raegina, Reginald, Reanna, and Reshon.
A very special niece and nephew Laura Corbett and Julius Kerr, a dear friend Macy Bannerman along with so many special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, September 24, 2021, at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church Cemetery in Harrells. Pastor Garry Kerr will be officiating over the service.
A public viewing will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2021, from 1:00-6:00 PM at Carter Funeral Home in Garland.
