Betty Jane (Smith) Smith

Mrs. Betty Jane Smith, 81, of 201 Piney Grove Ave, Garland passed away Sunday, May 30, 2021 at her residence.

Betty was born January 28, 1940 in Sampson County to the late Sanford Walter Smith and Mary Lee Bordeaux. She worked in the Furniture Industry for many years. She is preceded in death by her husband the love of her life: Bobby Smith, son: Robert Smith Jr., three sisters: Sadie Tedder, Essie Mae Norris and Sallie Tolar. 

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, June 03, 2021 at Garland Cemetery. Reverend Matthew Young will be officiating the service. 

Betty leaves to cherish her memory her daughter: Pamela S. Lewallen of Garland, son: Tim Smith and wife Teresa of Autryville, sister: Ellen Strickland of Garland, three brothers: Sanford W. “S.J.” Smith of Garland, Gary Smith and wife Marsha of Ocean Isle, Herman Smith and wife Beth of Garland, seven grandchildren: Joshua Smith of Albemarle, Jeremy Smith of Albemarle, Chloe Whaley of Autryville, Madison Smith of Wilmington, Jennifer Kintner of Winston Salem, Jimmy L. Grant of Thomasville, Justin Jarrell Grant of Trinity, 6 great-grandchildren, beloved fur baby the 2nd love of her life: Louie and a host of nieces and nephews. 

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 02, 2021 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Carter Funeral Home in Garland.
