Catherine Russ

Ms. Catherine Russ, 92 of 804 S. Poplar St. Elizabethtown formerly of the Mt. Olive Community, passed away on Friday, May 6, 2022, at Bladen East Health & Rehab. Center in Elizabethtown, NC.

She was born in Bladen County on August 28, 1929 to the late Willie Alden and Irene Brown Daniels. Catherine received her education at Bladen Central High, Elizabethtown, NC.  She married Bing Russ, during this union two children were born.  One brother, Eura Lee Daniels, One son, Roscoe Bernard Russ, and one granddaughter, Wendy Russ, all preceded her in death.

Catherine joined Mt. Olive AME Zion Church at an early age and was a member for numerous years, until she resided at Bladen East Health & Rehabilitation Center in Elizabethtown, NC.

Catherine was a kind and loving person who loved her family dearly.  She was a quiet person who always wore a big smile.

Catherine leaves to cherish her memories of one daughter, Eloise Russ of Bronx, NY.  One Nephew, Levonne Daniels/Janice, and one niece, Janice Griffin/Thomas.  Grandchildren; Anthony Russ, Roscoe B. Russ, Jr, Nabria Russ, Teddy Russ. 20 Greatgrands and a host of other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, May 13, 2022, at Mt. Olive Community Cemetery in Elizabethtown. 

Friends will be received on Thursday, May 12, 2022, from 1:00-6:00 PM, at Carter Funeral Home in Garland.
