Charlie "Joe" Smith Jr.

Mr. Charlie “Joe” Smith, Jr., 69, of 125 Charlie Smith Drive, Harrells passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.

Joe was born July 18, 1951 in Duplin County to the late Charlie Smith Sr. & Nettie Mathis Smith. Joe was a Timber Harvester in the Logging Industry for many years.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 01, 2021 at Carter Funeral Home in Garland. Interment to follow at Garland Cemetery. The Reverend Greg Mott will be officiating.  

Joe leaves to cherish his memory his wife: Joyce Smith, four sons: Joey Smith and wife Jennifer of Whiteville, Kelvin Smith and wife Addeline of Harrells, Shone Smith and wife Belynda of Harrells, Charlie Smith III and wife April of Elizabethtown, one daughter: Melissa S. Martin and husband Kyle of Tarheel, two sisters: Betty Smith of Garland, Mildred Smith and husband Leroy of Garland, 16 grandchildren: Matthew Smith, Zachery Smith, Blair Soles, Taylor Eason, Winston Martin, Shelby Smith, Mason Smith, Maverick Smith, Parker Smith, Christopher Smith, Samantha Smith, Mikayla Smith, Austin Smith, Andrew Edwards, Stephanie Smith, Brendon Smith and 1 great-grandchild: Samuel Smith.
