David Beatty Sr.

Mr. David Beatty Sr., 95, of 6615 NC Hwy. 210 East, Harrells, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2022, at Elizabethtown Nursing Center in Elizabethtown, NC.

David was born November 25, 1926, in Bladen County to the late Jim & Eddie Ann Beatty. He was a WWII Navy Veteran and later had a career as a Logger in the Timber Industry. In addition to his parents David is preceded in death by five brothers: Bennie Burney; Jermiah Beatty; James “Buddy” Beatty; John Beatty; and Will Beatty, and five sisters: Gertrude Corrbett; Christine Beatty; Dorothy Woodhouse; Ruth High; and Pearl Robinson.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, October 21, 2022, at Murphy’s Chapel AME Zion Church in Harrells, NC. Interment to follow at Beatty Cemetery in Harrells, NC.

David leaves to cherish his memory two daughters: Thelma Bannerman; and Rosetta Townsend (James) of Garland, one son: David Beatty Jr. (Antionette) of Harrells, 6 grandchildren: Valerie Rayner (Derrick) of Fayetteville; Bradley Townsend (Moneat) of Garland; Clifon Townsend of Garland; Marcus Beatty; LaVonda Little (Joerall); and Kenneth Bannerman, 7 great-grandchildren: Nikki Barksdale; Darius Hall; Chandler McKoy-Townsend; Tyvon Townsend; Brittney Townsend; Bradley Townsend, Jr.; and Skylar Little, and a host of nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2022, from 1:00-6:00 PM, at Carter Funeral Home in Garland.
