Delbert Smith

Mr. Delbert Smith, 82, of 4483 Bull St., Garland, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024, at Bladen County Hospital in Elizabethtown.

Delbert was born December 19, 1941, in Bladen County to the late Willis N. Smith and his wife Ruby Lee Rich Smith. In addition to his parents, Delbert is preceded in death by his wife: Charlotte “Susie” Smith, siblings: Paul Robert Smith, Sally New, W. J. Smith, and Shirley S. English.

A Graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery, 1989 Bull St., Garland. Reverend Gary McMillan will be officiating the service.

Delbert leaves to cherish his memory, three daughters: Ann Edge and husband Steve, Tammy Cashwell and husband Myron, Kim Smith and husband Garrett, all of Garland, six grandchildren: Jessica Hufham and husband Jamie, Kelly Edge, Leah Main, Elizabeth Cashwell, Nicholas Higgins and wife Emilee, Morgan Higgins, one great-grandson: Lance Hufham, and one brother: Hugh Smith.

A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, from 2:00-2:45 PM, at Friendship Baptist Church, 1989 Bull St., Garland, prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Friendship Baptist Church, 1989 Bull Street, Garland, NC 28441 (Cemetery Fund).

The family wishes to thank the staff at Elizabethtown Health and Rehab Center, for their care and services provided during his stay.

The family will receive friends, Tuesday, January 23, 2024, from 11:00-8:00 PM, at the home of Kim and Garrett Smith, 3516 Old Fayetteville Road, Garland, NC.
