Donald Winfred Long

Donald Winfred Long, 68, of 9933 NC Hwy. 242 S. Bladenboro, NC, passed away on Friday, July 30, 2021 at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC.

Donald was born January 23, 1953 in Bladen County to the late John and Hazel Long. He was employed for many years with S & W Concrete as a Truck Driver and he also served in the Army National Guard. Donald is preceded in death by: two sons: Donald Wesley Long; Eric Wade Long, one daughter: Sarah Ruth Long, and three brothers: John Lee Long Jr.; Currie Long; and Horace Long, two sisters: Janice Lewis and Becky Blackburn and one nephew: Currie Long Jr. 

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, August 05, 2021 at Long Cemetery, 9933 NC Hwy. 242 South, Bladenboro. The Reverend Ronnie Brisson will be officiating the service. 

Donald leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 46 years: Sherry Pait Long, daughter: Tonya Denise Long of Bladenboro, special grandchildren: Peyton & Camryn Robinson, special daughter: Kimberly Cheshire of Bladenboro, four brothers: Marshall Long (Sandra) of Bladenboro; Jimmy Long (Deloris) of Elizabethtown; Ralph Long (Martha) of Bladenboro; Stanley Long (Robin) of Tobermory, sister-in-law: Anne Long and a host of many nieces & nephews. Donald loved to watch “Green Acres” on television with his faithful furry companion “Tiny” on his lap. Donald was Donald and he loved to talk to anyone that came in his path and he will greatly be missed by all who knew him. 

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 04, 2021, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Calvary Church A New Beginning, 405 S. Main St., Bladenboro.
