Dwight Darryl Herring

Mr. Dwight Darryl Herring, 58, of 6991 Tomahawk Hwy., Harrells, NC, passed away on Sunday, April 09, 2023, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro, NC.  

Dwight was born March 05, 1965, in Sampson County to William Junior Herring and his wife Mary Melvin Herring. He is preceded in death by his wife Sharonnelle, and his dad, William Herring Jr. Dwight enjoyed a career as a Truck Driver for Smithfield Foods. 

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, 9364 Wildcat Road, Ivanhoe, NC. Interment to follow at Tomahawk First Baptist Church Cemetery in Harrells, NC. The Reverend Willie C. Alford will be officiating the service.  

Dwight leaves to cherish his memory his son: Dwight Herring, Jr., daughter: Sharna Herring, his mother: Mary L. Melvin Herring, 3 brothers: Caldon Herring (Katie), Larry Herring (Dorothy), Barney Lee Herring, mother-in-law: Edna R. Bethae, sister-in-law: LaTonya Sellars, brother-in-law: Arthur Bethae (Stevie), special friend: Bill Pope, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  

A viewing will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023, from 1:00-6:00 PM, with the family present from 5:00-6:00 PM, at Carter Funeral Home in Garland, NC.
