Edna "Babe Ruth" (Butler) Morris

Mrs. Edna “Babe Ruth” Butler Morris, 78, of 990 Parkersburg Road, Garland, NC, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2023, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC.

Edna was born February 27, 1945, in Sampson County to the late John Homer Butler, Sr. and his wife Grace Cheshire Butler. In addition to her parents, Edna is preceded in death by her husband: Thurl “Mickey” Gordon Morris, son: Lynn Tadlock, and four sisters: Peggy Norris, Janice Rich, Faye Lewis, and Frances Monroe.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, January 01, 2024, at Carter Funeral Home, 111 N. Ingold Ave., Garland, NC. Officiating the service will be her great-nephew: Chris Monroe.

Edna leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter: Kelly Povazsay and husband Vincent of Roseboro, grandson: Lynn Povazsay and fiancé, Jillian Storey of Raleigh, granddaughter: Emily Piercy and husband Chase of Clinton, great-granddaughter: Marcie Piercy, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
