Mr. Fred Douglas Best, 90, of 2314 Big Piney Grove Rd. Clinton, NC, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at the Durham VA Medical Center in Durham, NC.
Mr. Best was born March 25, 1930 in Pitt Co., NC the son of the late Wesley Woodard and Corrine Best. Mr. Best was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served in the Korean War. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Wesley Woodard, Walter Woodard, one sister, Gladys Herring, and a grandchild, Kayleigh Middlebrooks.
Mr. Best is survived by Daughters, Edith Best Cox of Clinton, Victoria R. Middlebrooks of the home, Deidre A. Middlebrooks of the home, Carolyn McClain, Shirley Stinnie (Carl), Gloria Best all of Brooklyn, NY, a special loving & caring niece, Leila Best and a host of Grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews.
The family will be receiving friends at the home of Edith Best Cox, 415 Butler Dr., Clinton, NC 28282.
A walk through viewing will be held on Sunday, September 27, 2020 from 1:00 PM-6:00 PM at Carter Funeral Home in Garland.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, September 28, 2020 at Hill Crest Memorial Park in Clinton.
