Freddie Simmons Obituary
Mr. Freddie Lee Simmons, 74, of 11301 Boykin Bridge Rd., Roseboro, NC passed away on Monday, December 7, 2020 at UNC Memorial Hospital, in Chapel Hill, NC.
Mr. Simmons was born December 10, 1945 in Sampson County to the late Fred and Alice Simmons. Mr. Simmons is preceded in death by one brother; Wilbur Simmons and four sisters; Honesta Galoski, Thelma King, Ruby Guy and Hazel Parrish. He was owner/operator of McDaniel’s Mercantile at McDaniel’s Cross Road.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Mintz Baptist Church, 3761 Old Mintz Hwy, Roseboro, NC. Interment will follow at Carter Cemetery, 10881 Old Mintz Hwy, Garland, NC.
Mr. Simmons is survived by his wife; Vivian Simmons, two daughters; Amy Fann and husband Huey of Roseboro, NC, Janet Barber and husband James of Harrells, NC, one sister; Durema Koger and husband Bill of Charlotte, NC, 4 grandchildren; Savannah Kamp and husband Cody, Courtney Barber, Ryan Barber and Katelyn Fann.
A public viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 09, 2020 from 1:00-5:00 PM at Carter Funeral Home in Garland, NC.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Mintz Christian Academy, 2741 Mintz Road, Roseboro, NC 28382.
