Hal Smith

Mr. Hal Smith 76 of 2161 NC Hwy. 210 West, Garland, N.C. died Friday, March 23, 2018 at Bladen Co. Hospital in Elizabethtown, NC.

Mr. Smith was born November 21, 1941 in Bladen County, the son of the late Eddie Smith & Helen Crooms Smith. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by three brothers, Wilbur Smith, E.J. Smith and Earl Smith. Mr. Smith was a retired logger.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 26, 2018 at the Church of God of Prophecy in Garland with the Rev. Grant Russell and Rev. Jimmy Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the Smith Cemetery, Harrells.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife Betty Smith, one daughter, Patricia Shaw and husband Wayne of Clarkton, three sons, Ray Smith and wife Nicole of Garland, Richard Smith of Garland and Jamie Smith and wife Clara of Clarkton, two brothers Robert Smith and wife Katie of Garland, Larry Smith and wife Ann of Clinton, four sisters, Hazel Chadwick and husband J.C. of Elizabethtown, Peggy Poole of Clinton, Mary Ruth Grainger of Florida and Edna Smith of Garland, 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Sunday, March 25, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home in Garland.
