Harold Clayton Rich , Jr.

Harold Clayton Rich, Jr. 68, of Harrells, NC died Sunday, January 9, 2022, at home.   Harold was a native of Garland born, July 13, 1953.  He was the son of the late Harold C. Rich, Sr.  He is survived by his mother, Doris Holland Rich, three sisters Michelle and husband, Lloyd Goode, of Bedford, VA; Frankie Rich of Garland; and Pam Lineberry and husband, Larry, of Burgaw; nephew Tripp Lineberry and wife, Katie Cohorst Lineberry, of Raleigh, nieces, Jessica Lineberry Woelk and husband, Daniel, of Burgaw and Amy Lineberry Jaziri and husband Kammel, of Wilmington, aunt, Mrs. Edith Rich, of Fairmont and uncle, Mr. Ray Holland, of Wilmington and numerous cousins.   

Harold graduated from Garland High School and Elon College.  After college, he was employed as a salesperson for his Father’s store, Garland Drug Company before being hired by Bellamy Drug Company in Wilmington and Medline Industries of Chicago, IL and received the Southeast Region Salesperson of the Year Award in 1995.  In 1997 he made a career change from medical supply sales to licensed real estate broker representing office and industrial tenants and buyers in the Raleigh/Durham for Rich Commercial Realty, a company his sister, Michelle, founded in 1989.  He was honored by Triangle Business Journal for largest industrial transaction of the year in 2005.    He was an accomplished professional in all his endeavors and had many clients and colleagues who regarded him as true professional always putting their interests as his top priority.   He was a member of the Garland Baptist Church, Triangle Commercial Realtors Association and Triangle Area Office Building Association. 

            A Memorial Service will be held at Garland Baptist Church at 55 W 2nd Street Garland, NC on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at 2:00 PM.  Visitation will follow the service in the reception hall of the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Garland Baptist Church 55 W. 2nd Street, Garland, NC 28441; Thomas L. and Isabelle C.
