Johnnie Irene (Newton) McNeil

Mrs. Johnnie Irene McNeil, 97, of 365 Longview Lake Road, Garland, passed away Sunday, October 03, 2021, at her residence.

Johnnie was born July 14, 1924, in Sampson County to the late Johnny and Jannie Newton. She was preceded in death by her husband: William McNeil and two sons: Kibey McNeil; Johnny McNeil. She received her education at Kerr School in Sampson County, NC. Johnnie worked for many years at the Rose Hill Poultry Plant on the Assembly Line. She cherished the love of her family and friends. 

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, October 08, 2021, at McNeil Cemetery in Garland. Reverend Johnnie B. Murphy will be officiating the service.

Johnnie leaves to cherish her memory three daughters: Geneva Hill (William) of Garland; Letha McNeil of Raleigh; Violet McNeil of Garland, one son: William “Bonney” McNeil Jr. of Clinton, 6 grandchildren: Eva Jane McNeil; Nancy McNeil; Lenora McNeil Anderson; Jermaine “Buddy” McNeil; Shamar McNeil; Kalisha McNeil, a host of great-grandchildren, host of nieces and nephews, and a close friend: Vernet Crumpler.

The public will be received on Thursday, October 07, 2021, from 1:00-6:00 PM at Carter Funeral Home in Garland.
