Pamela Gail (Stevens) Sholar

May 1, 1950 — February 6, 2023

White Lake

Mrs. Pamela S. Sholar, 72, of 26 Chadwick Place Drive, White Lake, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2023, at her residence.

Pam was born May 01, 1950, in Mt. Airy, NC to the late James Coy Stevens and Wanda Gale Chilton Stevens.

After graduating from Appalachian State University with her Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Physical Education, Pam moved to Elizabethtown to start her teaching career. She taught in the Bladen County Schools for over 30 years at the Elizabethtown Junior High School, East Bladen High School, Bladen Lakes Primary, and Booker T. Washington Elementary School. After retiring from teaching, Pam was able to continue helping students by assisting with the Bladen County Schools Homebound Program.

Pam was passionate about sports and loved to coach softball, volleyball, and tennis. She also loved watching college basketball, especially Duke and Wake Forest, ACC tournaments, and NCAA tournaments. After retirement, Pam started monogramming as a hobby that quickly turned into a full-time business. As much as she enjoyed monogramming, she cherished the people she met through her monogramming business more. In her free time, she loved taking family trips back home to Pilot Mountain and to Maggie Valley.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, February 13, 2023, at the Lake Church, 1930 White Lake Drive, White Lake, NC. Pastor Cameron McGill will be officiating the service. Interment to follow at White Oak Family Worship Center Cemetery, 1932 Burney Road, White Oak, NC.

Pamela leaves to cherish her memory her husband: Larry Sholar, son: Chad Sholar and wife Rachel of Elizabethtown, NC, and three brothers: Jerry Stevens of Walnut Cove, NC; Roger Stevens of Westfield, NC; and Monty Stevens of Westfield, NC.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 12, 2023, from 4:00-6:00 PM, at the Lake Church, 1930 White Lake Drive, White Lake, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Elizabethtown Volunteer Fire Fighters Association, 300 East Board St., Elizabethtown, NC 28337, or to the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Foundation, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC, 28401 or online at lifecare.org.
