Death is not the end, but a new beginning of new life which God has promised us. Richard Burden answered the call of our Master on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn, NY.

Richard received his formal education through Bladen Central High School in Elizabethtown, North Carolina.

Richard relocated to Brooklyn, New York and married to Elosie McNair Burden. He worked numerous jobs until his retirement. He was a lover of the New York Yankees.  His favorite saying was: “Look at those few loaders”. He enjoyed eating redhots, pineapple and coconut cake, and drinking Pepsi Cola.

Richard leaves to cherish his fond memories: his children: five boys: Michael (Brenda) Lewis of New York, NY, Richard (Monica) McNair of San Antonio, TX, Dewayne Johnson of Brooklyn, NY, Christopher Burden of New York, NY, Shawn (Sonja) Burden of Goldsboro, NC; two daughters: Nisa (Ike) Clark of Brooklyn, NY and Maxine (Ernest) Kenner of  Columbia, SC; 18 Grandchildren; seven Great Grandchildren; two sisters: Emma Shipman and Joann Burden both of Tar Heel, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relative and friends.
